Early Childhood

The Educational Services Department of the Yuba County Office of Education provides a variety of services, offering support for your children and their families.

Child Care Planning Council of Yuba and Sutter Counties (see web site).

  • Recommends local priorities for distribution of child development funds
  • Promotes and enhances the quality of childcare and development services through public education, provider education and provision of support services

Plumas Lake Child Development Center
This fee for service preschool program for children ages 3-5 years of age includes and after kindergarten care option.  The center offers an early childhood program that fosters the physical, social, emotional, intellectual, language and creative growth of young children.  The Plumas Lake CDC staff welcomes parent involvement and encourages positive parent-child interaction inside and outside the classroom.

Yuba County Child Development Behavioral Specialist
A collaborative project of First 5 Yuba and YCOE.  We provide a positive, strengths based resource for children up to 5 years of age who exhibit challenging behaviors and the people who care for them.  The program provides in-home and childcare or classroom assessment and support services for children living in Yuba County.  Child development and behavior workshops on a variety of topics are offered to Yuba County parents, providers and teachers.
